Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Refinacing errors

I refinanced my home recently in order to pay off my debts. The company issued me a check for a company listed on my credit report that did not belong to me. It had been placed there in error and the credit bureau corrected it. I returned the check to the company that I refinanced with, they in turn were to make the check payable to me since it was already included in the mortgage payments. This occured in July. I have been in contact with them consistently regarding this and their response has been that it was being taken care of. I was recently told that there is nothing to be done. Is this legal?

Re: Refinacing errors

No, of course not. If you are making payments on money, then you are entitled to receive that money or have it deducted from your monthly payments.
