Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Renters last months' legal rights for showing
This is my last month in my apartment an my landlord will call 0ne hour prior to showing the apartment and now they have gone too far by showing the apartment yesterday without first calling me or leaving a message at work or home.
I have asked the landlord not to do this again and have asked for 24 hours notice - not an hour
to show the apartment and she said that was impossible.
She is very unreasonable and I cannot talk to her
as an adult any longer - I need help - my privacy is being invaded!

Re: Renters rights
I think your request is most reasonable. I assume that you have a written lease that provides for quiet enjoyment. Also, most leases do have provisions for showing the premises at the end of the lease term. I can't understand why you haven't contacted a Real Estate attorney yet to assist you with this problem.
