Replace Security Deposit

does the tenant have to replace the security deposit? I was unemployeed for 3 months, and I paid for one month of security, found a state agency to pay the next and lived on my security deposit the third month before I found another job. Now my landlord says I must repay the security deposit.

It could depend on what the lease actually says... but the simple answer is yes.
