Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

sale of delinquent taxes on land and lots

What happens if you are five minutes late delivering your

property tax payment and when you get there the door is locked and the drop off box has a barrier on it? If sale begins on Monday at 9:00 and the office opens at 8:30..will it be possible to pay the taxes then? If not, do I have any rights and what are they? Will I need a lawyer? What kind of lawyer?

Re: sale of delinquent taxes on land and lots

You can usually redeem the taxes despite the sale within a specified period of time. You must check your local rules.
