Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
sale of elderly mothers home
My mother is 86 and may soon have to move to a supportive living facility. Her house is in the name of her 5 children, but she does have right of survivorship. How will this effect the sale of her house?

If she was the original owner of the house and the other names were added later, the house may be liened by the IDPA to repay her nursing home bills.

Re: sale of elderly mothers home
Based on your submission, it has no effect at all. Her children own the property.
