Security Deposit vs. Indemnity Deposity

When I moved into my townhouse, instead of calling the deposit a ''security deposit'', they called it an ''indemnity deposit''.

Does the change in wording excuse them from following the legal guidelines for security deposits when we move.

i.e. The return of the interest along with the deposit.
