security deposit

I would like to know is it legal for the landlord to attached the rent increase to the security deposit? Meaning everytime I pay the rent increase i have to pay into my security.

Its legal if the written lease says he can increase the security deposit with every rent increase...otherwise its not. Also if every rent increase is embodied in a new lease and the lease calls for a higher security deposit... and you sign it than again its legal

Actually, this is a rather normal practice. In some cases, i.e., if the security deposit is not "tied" to the amount of the rent, then it really should not be increased.
