Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
If a seller signed a disclosure form stating no known problems with AC and then after sale final buyer found hidden container under unit to catch dripping water and due to mold had to replace entire unit for $5000 is the seller held responsible? Can buyer sue? Small claims court or thru private lawyer? Thanks

Impossible to tell. The seller apparently thought there was no problem. And if your contract had an inspection contingency and you didn't have the place inspected, that's most likely on your head. But if you had the place inspected and the inspector negligently failed to recognize the problem then it could be the inspector's problem. See an attorney, because before you know it the seller will have one and you'll be facing off without one.
