Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
If I signed a lease, and was required to pay my full months rent on the first and then told by the reality company and complex that I can't move in until the fifteenth: Isn't it illegal for them to require me to pay a full month's rent, but only allow me to stay in the apartment half the month in Illinois?

Did you actually sign a lease? Someone would have to review it. Sounds like they wanted really a security deposit PLUS one month's rent up, and how it's applied may be stated in the lease. You should at least get a receipt for the payment, but it is possible and thus not necessarily "illegal".
