Stored Belonging

I stored a persons belonging in my garage. I notified the person by e-mail in January, that the belonging must be removed by May 1st. I did not recieve a response. I sent another e-mail in March stating the same thing. No response. My question is now that May 1st is coming up, can I legally get rid of the belonging without any backlash from this person?

I think I would send the person a letter, Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. The green card, when received, will be more readily accepted by a judge should there be an issue regarding the receipt of notice later.
