Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

There is an old subdivision sign on the corner utility easement next to our property, that we have to mow and maintain. There is no HOA and since the developer is not building here anymore or maintaining sign, we have repaired and repainted to our liking and landscaped. But now a couple of individuals in the subdivision want to take down all the signs at all entrances and put up something more modern or even just cement forms with carved name on it. As closest resident who has to mow and have this reflect on our property, do we have a say or right in selection or if they can do this on their own?

Unless there is a recorded easement, you probably have the only "say." I would recommend having an attorney review the relevant documents to be certain.
