Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I have been sued and so I'm a defendant -- do I have to file an appearance in order to be presented in court for hearing if I'm pro se?

Thanks so much.

Yes. In additiona to Mr. Palmers comments, an appearance entitles you to receive notice of all court hearings in your case.
