Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I sued someone in 9/21/04 (small claims court) and won a judgement of $9,036.77. I found out recently that he got it vacated on 12/16/04, I was not notified. I checked the court file and a lawyer told me there were discrepancies on it. 1. Someone neglected to circle "granted" or "denied" at the end of the description 2. I did not know the file was re-opened after the judgement. The lawyer suggested that it may have been "slipped thru the cracks of the system" and I should try to set a case for trial. I know how it works because I have sued people in small claims court, but do not know what I have to fill out for this.

You must have a trial attorney for this because it would be an appeal. The law requires an attorney for this and the amount involved justifies the expense. Your grounds give you a reasonable chance of success.

Just motion the case back up in court. Notice of motion available on cook county web site. If the case has been dwp'd, you may be out of luck.
