Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

We were summoned to court March 4, 2011 for foreclosure on our house. We have received a letter from their lawyer stating if we pay to reinstate our mortgage, it must be done by Feb. 3, 2011. Do we still need to go to the courthouse and file an answer within the 30 days (or at all)? We are paying them the money, but we are not sure about filing at the courthouse. We have 9 days left to file.

Since often the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing in these foreclosures, ignoring your deadlines on the foreclosure case could cause significant problems for you down the line.

I totally agree w/ Mr. Moens. I've heard of too many situations where the loan servicing people don't talk to the foreclosure people and nobody talks to the attorneys who are filing the case. Assuming this is your home, do everything! Somebody once told me 95% of the effort is really zero effort, because you're still short of the mark; in times like these, it takes 110% or 120% of the effort..... Best of luck.
