Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Tenant gives a "30 day Vacate Notice" on the 15th of March leaving by March 31st. Landlord signed it under the "Receipt Acknowledgement" line. The tenant did not move until April 15th. The lease states only a 30 day or more notice is acceptable. The 30 Day Vacate Notice states the notice must be given at the beginning of the month for the following month. Does the tenant owe for the month of April?
