Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Im a tenant who never signed a lease.. have been staying for about 6 months.. living conditions and arrangements have change .. as well as im not comfortable where i stay we are not getting along and want to go along with my life .. i never signed a lease with the roomate he was living there b4 had an altercation with a spouse which allowed me to move in.. i never signed a lease or any paper work and now i wana move.. he has treaten me with saying he has text messages and "face book" chats saying how the arrangements were gonna be.. what are my options i just wana pay my rent and what ever bills i owe and go about my way

Absent caselaw stating otherwise, you are on a month to month and cna leave on 30 days notice. Be sure the notice is written.
