Does Illinois law require a termite inspection for real estate?

Generally, or to sell the house? There's no law requiring termite inspections. If you are planning to sell your house, it is a good idea to get a termite/pest inspection, but not mandatory.

no. It is per contract unless there is an FHA loan (per federal law).

Also, be advised. If there were termites, they did not get rid of them. They can only be transferred to the neighbors. So they will comeback unless you keep up your guard
