Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Our village is claiming property owners must maintain the ditches that are between Street and sidewalks of our property. Claiming this and sidewalk is on an easement and therefore our responsibility to maintain. They gouged out ditches and made next to impossible to mow with anything but a push mower and/or weed-eater. Whose responsibility is this. I live in Illinois.

Without a survey, it is impossible to tell you who owns the property. If you are the owner, you would have an obligation to maintain.
