Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Illinois
Alright, I have a friend who is 18, and has had sexual relations with a 14 year old girl. Their age difference is actually less than 4 years, however.
This takes place in Illinois.
There is a possibility of the girl being pregnant, and it is unknown how her parents will react as far as reporting the situation.
My friend loves the girl very much, is graduating high school and has scholarships and whatnot to go to college. He's on a somewhat successful path, minus this potential setback. He's an upstanding guy, and plans to stay with the girl and help her raise the baby. He is even willing to sign papers to hold him to this.
The girl is 100% on his side through this, and would refuse to testify/answer questions if possible.
The parents are unknown, but they do like him, and it wouldn't make sense to lock someone up who is willing to step forth and take responsibility.
What's the likelihood of the DA prosecuting, in the event that she is pregnant? (Essentially, how screwed is he?)

There is no way of predicting whether a DA would prosecute. The availability of DNA cancels out the girl's willingness to help the male.
