Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Illinois

EEOC investigaton and public records

Hello,

The EEOC found that my sexual harassment charge against my former employer had merit after its investigation and is now attempting to mediate. I'd like to know what the EEOC found so that I can decide whether to accept the settlement offered by my employer (not even close to my annual salary and I've been unemployed for over a year after my employer retaliated against me), or to refuse their offer and take the next step (not sure what that may be). Is the EEOC's investigation public record? My lawyer says that he has absolutely no idea what the EEOC found out. I feel somewhat railroaded and left in the dark not knowing what they discovered and how strong my case is.

Since you indicated you have an attorney, it is not clear why your questions are not being answered by him or her. If you feel you need different representation, then you may wish to explore that.
