Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Illinois

Order of Protection violations

I have a stalker who insists of violating an order of protection through third parties. She has written letters accusing me of abusing government agencies and child neglect through DCFS. I have strong reason to believe she has tapped my telephone and/or broadcasts my personal conversations through the internet somehow. I can not get a single phone call to go through to recieve help. She lives in North Carolina and I've seen her in my area 3 times in the last year and a half. I've changed my number nearly a half dozen times and moved. The list of her offenses is much more extensive than I have listed. She's basically taken over my life and knows when I leave my home and what I say. Any suggestions?

Re: Order of Protection violations

You have a right to seek an order of contempt in the court which issued the original protective order.

Re: Order of Protection violations

If she is violating an order of protection then she may be criminally liable for that violation. You may have a civil cause of action against her for the emotional distress that this harassment has caused. Without knowing more regarding your case such as your former relationship with this individual it would be difficult to suggest a course of action. If you wish to discuss this further and provide additional information please call my office at 312-236-9906.

Very truly yours,
