Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Illinois
Sexual harassment???Slander???
I work in a small police dept as a community service officer. I have a good working realationship( I would even call him my friend) with one of my Sgts. During a conversation with him one day, he told me that a few other Sgts/ Commanders give him a hard time for being friends with me and told him that the only reason he is friends with me is because he wants to sleep with me. ( i am obviously not liked by alot of my bosses) Fast foward about a week...My buddy Sgt was called into the chiefs office. Some officers claim that I am getting special treatment from him because I am sleeping with him. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Why cant I just go to work and do my job? I am one of two females that work with 15 males. (my female coworker has also had similar issues) I dont feel like I can brush this off. I am so frustrated !

You can file a claim for sexual harassment/hostile work environment, there are strict time requirements make sure you protect your rights and act immediately......
