Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
20 Year old received 3rd speeding ticket
I received my 3rd speeding ticket and have to go to court in September. Is there an automatic suspension or will hiring a lawyer (Will County) help? If I hire a lawyer, what can I expect as a punishment?

Re: 20 Year old received 3rd speeding ticket
If you are under 21 and this is your second ticket in under 24 months you license will be suspended if you receive a conviction. If you are now over 21 and this is your third in a year, then a conviction will result in a suspension. A lawyer with knowledge of your situation can make the proper representations to the prosecuting authority, and often can procure supervision, which will not result in a suspension. This is very dependent upon your driving history and the nature of your current offense. Our firm regularly appears in Will County courts. If you wish to speak further about your case you may call my cell at 630-965-8280. Feel free to leave a message as I am often in court. I will return your call.
