Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
16 year old receives two tickets
My son received two tickets, one for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident--he bumped into the back end of a state troopers car, no damage to either car. Our question here is if an accident really occurred with no damage to either car.
The other ticket was for 4 unrelated in the car--that we will plead guilty to and take court supervision. But should we ask for a bench hearing on the first ticket due to the question of what is an accident?

Re: 16 year old receives two tickets
You didn't indicate where you live, or the county in which the "accident" took place. This could be more serious depending on where the "offense" took place and in what court.... It is possible that the trooper won't show up for such a minor incident....Good Luck!
