Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I was arrested driving my girlfriends car for operation of a motor vehicle with suspended registration for non-insurance. Her car had insurance on it, but the plates still came up suspended. i have a clean record. cop said to ask for diversion, can you help me?

Do not ask for diversion. Your girlfriend can clear up her suspended registration if she had insurance on the date you were ticketed. You can clear this up without pleading guilty or getting supervision You just need to be organized about how you go about it.
