trying to avoid being ran over the top of !

my wife recently had an accident where she was found to be at fault (a semi lost air brake pressure and she tried to go around him to avoid getting ran over the top of but the officer said that she was driving too close and she got ticketed for that and no insurance it lapsed but we got it back) my question is that do we need a lawyer to take care of these tickets in court when she goes. she wants to know what will happen in court?

These are serious enough charges to justify the expense of hiring an attorney. An attorney should be able to avoid your wife taking any convictions, and will save you money because your insurance company will not be able to cancel you or raise your rates as a result of any convictions on these charges.
