Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
bike riding at night
A friend and I were riding bikes at night on a two lane road in a specific bike lane. We were stopped by an non-uniformed officer in an unmarked car. The officer did not identify himself with any police dept. or show a badge. He wrote us each $100 tickets for riding without a light at night on the bike. I have chosen to contest this in court. What would be my best defense in this matter? Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. Dave

Re: bike riding at night
Actually having a light on at the time you were riding would do the trick.
