Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
Car Impounded
My son was stopped by a police officer for not using his turn signal (did not issue a ticket for this). He was issued a ticket for curfew violation (he was coming home from work, however an hour after punching out) and no valid drivers license, since it was after curfew. They called me to pick him up where he was pulled over. However, they impounded the car. Why would they have done this, since they called me to pick him up, I could have also picked up the car.

Re: Car Impounded
Hello.
There certainly is no rational
basis for the police officer's
decision to impound your
car. You should file a
complaint with the city/
or police chief and notify
your city councilman!
