Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
expired license and court supervision
I have been on court supervision for a DUI I received last Feb. Ever since I have been driving on a ticket and using a state Id. I got a ticket last week for driving on an expired license. I didnt even relize my license had expired since I kept it in my glove box and used my ID for Identification. The officer told me if I went the next day and had the information updated, took it to the states attorney's office, it should be dismissed. I did just that. The SA office told me they are on the prosecuting side and do not dismiss tickets, I would have to go to court. What it comes down to, is I am nervous, because I am on court supervision, it was an honest mistake. The date on my State Id is different from that on my license. Is this a moving violation? How can this affect my CS?

Yes to both questions. The prosecutor in the 1st case can file a PTR if you get convincted in #2. May I suggest that you hire a lawyer??
