Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Fender Bender

My wife had a fender bender a couple of weeks ago. The car in front of my wife's car slammed their brakes and she hit them. The court date is 7/16. We contacted the insurance company and they said they would take care of the damages. She still has to go to court for the ticket she received. Should she plea not guilty or guilty? and plea for supervision. Obviously she hit the car and is guilty for following too close. I was told that no matter what not to plea guilty. What would you recommend?

Re: Fender Bender

Your wife should plead not guilty, obtai a continuance, and hire an attorney to negotiate with the state's attorney to be sure that she does not take a conviction on this charge. It is possible that the state's attorney may make the deal directly with your wife depending upon what court you are in, but if I were your wife I would hire an attorney to be sure.
