Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
Is it hit & run?
A man who drove his van with a U-haul trailer hit my car,
which was parked in the lot. I reported to the police and
have the police report. However, his insurance
company told me after a month that they could not get in
touch with their insurer. And this man's phone was
disconnected. I learned that he had moved to another
town, but I don't know his current address.\
Is this a kind of hit & run? Can I possibly find out his
new address with the information on the police report?
If yes, how? Can I sue him without his current address?
Thank you.

Re: Is it hit & run?
It does appear to be a hit and run. The police should be able to find him. You would need his current address to serve him/her with a summons and complaint. Good Luck !
