Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
No Insurance
I was recently ticketed for the second time in 2 years for failing to have insurance. What can expect as far as penalties? Can a lawyer get the charge lessened? If I explained to the judge that I'm in the middle of a divorce and my wife purposely kept the renewal notice from me, will that help me?
Thank you.

Re: No Insurance
The disposition depends a great deal on which county you are in. Getting a lawyer is always helpful since it shows that you are taking the charges seriously.
