Out of Jurisdiction?

I was speeding down a busy road in Vernon Hills, IL and as I passed I saw a cop pull out and begin to follow me. I immediatley slowed down. He didn't turn on his lights or attempt to pull me over, until we were about 2 miles up the road, In a different town. (Lincolnshire, IL). Since the police officer was a Vernon Hills police officer, can I argue that he pulled me over in a different town which was out of his jurisdiction?

You probably will not prevail by

arguing that the police officer

stopped you in another town because

the officer technically was still

in pursuit of your car, even if

he didn't pull you over. Law

enforcement officers are given a

degree of latitude in this type of

a situtation.

No, because the violation occurred in Vernon Hills; the police typcially testify that they follow you while they are awaiting "Wants and Warrants" information. What's your driving record like??
