Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

i was sent a letter from the state stating my license would be suspeded on 10-14 and i was giving a ticket for driving on suspended license and my truck was towed (both) on 10-11 (3 days before the suspention date), was this legal and what do i do next?
