Re: licence

I would find it unlikely that a police officer would issue you a ticket because you have a "record". Saying that, I would definitely relate that you need to hire a lawyer who practices in the county in which the ticket was issued. It is likely that you will have to issue subpoenas to have your witnesses appear in court for trial on the complaint (i.e., the ticket). If the ticket was issued in Cook County, you might consider calling me at (630)893-2494 to discuss your situation.

Re: licence

You definitely need to hire an attorney to represent you. It is unlikely that a police officer would issue you a ticket just because you have a record, but there may be a way for you to avoid a conviction and keep your license. Your post does not state what you were charged with or where you must appear in court, both of which facts would be important for an attorney to know. If your ticket was in any of the Illinois counties around St. Louis, MO you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
