Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

no license

My friend driving my vehicle when he bumped another car coming out of a parked position according to my friend there was no damage to the other vehicle no damage on my vehicle not even a scratch. They exchanged information however the other driver went to the police station and filed a report. The problem is my friend's license has expired. The officer called me and said my car had been in an accident and said that my friend needed to come to the police station he needed to complete his report and by the way tell my friend to bring $100 for bond for driving with an expired license.He said if not he could be charged with a hit& run. I gave the officer my insurance. My friend is excluded from my insurance which further complicates the matter my friend insists there was no damage to the other guys car and even the cop said ''luckily there is only a scratch to this fellas car no major damage'' My question is because my friend refuses to go to the station how much trouble can he be in? and what could happen to me? Can they issue a warrant for his arrest? I would be willing to pay for nay damage however my friend insists there was none. Please any advise would be greatly appreciated I am scared silly!never been in trouble with the cops

I've read your query. First, you are in the clear. Your friend however, can be in trouble. He will need to go to the police station and he will be ticketed for driving w/o a license. What is the name of the police agency? You need the assistance of a lawyer. You may contact me if you like.

As long as you gave your insurance info to the police, you're in the clear. Your friend, however, is facing a criminal charge. A warrant can issue. Also, his drivers license can be suspended. Have your friend call me immediately.
