Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

We used to live in ILL. but then moved to MO when we moved we got drivers lincse there and they took and cut our ILL ones up we lived there for 4 yrs my husband got some speeding tickets anyways we just moved back to ILL and my husband got pulled over for no seatbelts anyways when they ran his name they told him his drivers linscene was susppend or revoked in the state of ILL but wee didnt know cause we hadn't lived here for 4 yrs and have only been back for a few weeks they took him to jail and we bounded out but now it looks like he could serve up to #) days in jail and i dont understand how when you are not a resdent in the state that they can suspend your lincse from you

The law enforcement officers may have knee-jerked but I don't understand why MO would "cut ...up" your Illinois licenses. They are supposed to be SURRENDERED to the Illinois SOS. So the Illinois SOS probably didn't know you had MO licenses. So it's possible if MO "cut...up" the IL licenses you could POSSIBLY get out of something, but not of the unresolved matters that resulted in the revocation/suspension of the IL licenses in the first place. They are potentially separate issues. Best thing to do is hire a lawyer to defend him, and if there were unpaid fines that caused the revocation/suspension, it may be possible to pay them and come to court showing some good faith....
