Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I moved from Illinois in 2007 to Wyoming and am still currently residing in WY. I went to get my drivers license here in WY because Its been expired for about 9 years, due to my laziness I guess you can say. So I've been pulled over a few times and have gotten ticketed for driving on expired here in WY. I paid my fine on time to WY where I got the tickets and now the DMV is saying I have a suspended license for unpaid fees to Illinois for tickets I received in WY?? DMV in Illinois says I have to pay a reinstatement fee to Illinois because I got a ticket in WY when I haven't lived in Illinois for over 7 years and wasn't residing in Illinois when I got my ticket for expired license in WY . So to get my license I have to pay some hefty fines to Illinois. The whole thing makes no sense to me at all and I cant get any answers, they just want reinstatement fees paid. Confused, please I hope you can shed some light on this for me. Thank you

How can you justify driving for so long without a valid license? And, how can you justify pleading guilty to anything and just paying your Wyoming fines. Every time you did that, you took a conviction, and each conviction has consequences with the Illinois Secretary of State's office. Pay your fees or hire an attorney!
