Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I had gotten pulled over and did not have my drivers license on me or my insurance card. I went to get a new insurance card and found out that my insurance had not been paid in 3 months because my insurance company did not properly switch my account to take the money out so I thought it had been paid. I had it reinstated right away so I can show proof that i am insured. I have no criminal record or driving record . What do you think the penalty will be?

Even if you show up in court with the license and insurance you may get a nominal fine and have to pay court costs. That could easily be a few hundred.
It depends upon thestate's attorney and the Judge in the Court where your charges are pending. I would advise you to hire an attorney to be sure that you avoid taking any convictions. If you mishandle this, you may lose your license.
