Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

pulled over on suspended license

I have a court date on December 6th for being pulled over twice on a suspended license. I didn't show up at my last court date because I had the dates mixed up. Do I need a lawyer? I'm 19 and can't afford one

Re: pulled over on suspended license

Driving on a suspended license is a Class A misdemeanor with a possible penalty of up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $2500. When you miss court for one of these cases it is not unusual that a warrant be issued for your arrest. Given that situation you are best off to have an attorney with you. If you wish to discuss this further send an email to [email protected]. Good luck.

A "DWLS" is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in the county jail and $2500 fine. If that isn't serious enough to get your attention and interest you in hiring a lawyer, I don't know what would be. Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss further. And Good Luck!
