Rail Road Crossing Cameras

I received a Rail Road crossing violation (failure to stop, although gate was up), in Illinois. I have to go to court for it next month.

My question is, If I am convicted and pay the $250 dollar fine, will the government send this info to my insurance company?

I have tried contacting the court but they could not give me an answer on this.

They will not send the information to your insurance company, but it will be part of your public driving history and available to your insurance company and the companies some times look up the record of the people that they insure.

The court clerk would send the conviction to the Secretary of State's office where it would be entered on your driving record. That record is a public record and can be obtained by yor insurance carrier. Many insurance companies check driving records routinely at random, or anytime the insured changes policies, carriers, or coverages. You do not want to take this conviction if you can avoid it. An attorney may be able to help you get "supervision" which would avoid all of these consequences. Consult with an attorney.
