Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I received a citation right outside of missouri line just entering Illinois on a quite Sunday morning no one else on the road Cairo, police said I was speeding 12 miles over speeding zone issued a ticket. Ticket is marked must appear in court. I don't want to take that drive all the way back. Can I just pay the $375.00

You would have to call the State's Attorney for his/her decision. If you don't show, a warrant will most probably issue.
You may be better off hiring an attorney to see if the prosecutor will agree (and the Judge will accept) a plea bargain that will allow you to avoid the conviction. Usually this can be done with a plea under which you would be given "supervision" for 60 to 90 days up to six months and you would pay a fine and court costs. It is very often possible to accomplish this without a personal appearance in court, but it depends upon the Judge. I have handled a lot of these cases over the last thirty-three years.
