Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I just received a letter asking me for $5000 damages for an accident I caused 10 months ago. I guess it is additional to the insurance company's handling of the auto damages back then. The letter was sent to me, but isn't this covered under my 100K/300K bodily injury insurance? Wouldn't the insurance company handle this? Why wasn't it sent directly to them?

Have you contacted your insurance and asked them about the letter you received? If not you should do so.
