Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I received a ticket for failure to yield. There was no accident, I pulled out of a shopping center to cross a small side street to go to another shopping center. After waiting for an opening in traffic, I pulled out to go straight across. As I pulled out, a police car pulled out from behind the buildings, we both stopped and the officer waived me across. She then pulled in behind me and gave me that ticket. I apologized and said that I did not see her pull out from behind the building, but she did not want to talk to me at all. I did stop before I was even half way across, so how can I get a ticket for failure to yield? Should I go to court and fight this or just pay the ticket? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a difference of opinion, here. Yes, you can go to court and fight. I would recommend that you hire a lawyer, as these things can get complicated for a lay person. You can call; we can help. Good Luck.
I would advise you not to plead guilty. I would also advise you not to "fight" the ticket. I would advise you to hire an attorney to work out a plea bargain which will avoid a conviction for you.
Good luck.
