Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I just recently was arrested for DWLS. The suspension was made by the state for oddly only a 30 day suspension. My court date for the DWLS is a week after the 30 day is up. Is it wise to go and renew my license for court? What type of impact will it have on my ability not to loose my license for a longer period? All tickets that resulted in the suspension are now paid off.

Having your license reinstated would help you during the traffic matter. DWLS is punishable by up to a year in jail. How the prosecutor will handle the matter depends on your previous driving history, what your license was suspended for (DUI or failure to pay fines), and who is representing you.
In the past, if I can show the prosecutor that the license has been reinstated, sometimes they will dismiss charges.
