Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

I was recently stopped by a Riverwoods police officer on Rt. 21 just north of Lake-Cook Rd. (Lake County) He said he stopped me for driving on a suspended license. My license is suspended for a FTA on an out of state speeding ticket, although I should have it reinstated by the court date. My first question is, did the officer have sufficient cause for the stop since he could not know who was driving the car? Second the stop took place in Buffalo Grove 0.4 miles outside of Riverwoods jurisdiction. Did the officer have the right to make the stop in the first place. Finally, if the officer had the right to make the stop what should I expect to happen in court. This is my second stop for driving while suspended. The first one was about a year ago.

Your questions are very fact specific. When did the officer run the plates, who is on the vehicle registration, and where was the officer when he ran the plates.
