Can Speeding Be Pleaded Down -Springfield
I live in St. Louism MO. I received a speeding ticket in Springfield, IL. In MO, I can hire an atty for $50 -$60 to plead it down to a non-moving violation. Can this be done in Sangamon Ciunty, IL?

Re: Can Speeding Be Pleaded Down -Springfield
You can hire an attorney to negotiate a plea bargain with the state's attorney in Sangamon County Illinois under which you will receive "supervision" (bench probation), pay about $150, and avoid a conviction that would show up on your Missouri driving record if you have a clean record to begin with. I have handled several of these in Sangamon County myself. Sometimes the Court requires a personal appearance in Court depending upon various factors, and in those cases it may be necessary to hire a local counsel. You may call me for a consultation if you do not already have an attorney.
