Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Speeding Ticket

I recently recieved a speeding ticket and was told I have to go to court. I have one prior speeding conviction on my record. I was wondering if it would be worth getting a lawyer and trying to get the case dismissed or if i should just go in there? The cop never told me how fast I was going, he wrote it on the ticket but when he asked me if i was aware i was speeding I answered no. My registration tags were expired but I bought new ones the next day. Is this something that is easily dismissable.

I agree with the attorney who responded earlier. You should hire an attorney to represent you. An attorney will help you to avoid taking a conviction and in the long run you will save lots of money because your insurance company will not be able to use a convictionfor speeding to raise your insurance premiums. If you do not already have an attorney, you may call me for a consultation.

Hello. I always suggests having a lawyer present in court. It is very difficult to represent yourself in a court of law, in my opinion. I will be happy to answer any additional questions that you might have.
