Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

I was stopped on suspicion of DUI on 12/6/2009. This is my first offense of any kind. I refused the breath test and then of course they took me to jail for about 12 hrs. I was issued the Summary Suspension of my driver's license the day of the arrest. I hired a lawyer and got the charge reduced to reckless driving and court fees. They gave me a Conditional Discharge that lasts for 18 months. My lawyer told me that a Reckless Driving stop does not result in a suspension of my driver's license but that the driver's license Summary suspension would have had to be contested within the 1st 30 days of the incident. So if my license was technically suspended 45 days after 12/6/09 (1/21/10), would I be able to get my license back the day after 1/22/11?? And after I pay the $250 reinstatement fee, do I have to contact the court to get my license back or reapply again at the DMV?

From the facts you have provided it does not appear that there was any court action concerning your driver's license. I would follow up with the Secretary of State (or DMV).
