Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

I'm being sued for damages by other driver

I was in an accident & given a citation for failure to yield (even though the other driver was partially at fault). I pleaded guilty for the sake of expediency, but now the car's owner (who was not the driver) is suing me for unpaid damages. Prior to our court date my insurance company accepted 90% responsibility and paid her accordingly. The other driver accepted this settlement & called me at home to ask for more money. I reminded her that she accepted a payment from the insurance...she didn't listen & is now suing me for the amount that the insurance did not pay. I pleaded guilty because I figured my insurance company had already accepted 90% responsibility and I would probably not receive a favorable decision, and it would be hard to prove my innocence. My insurance company will dispute the other owner's lawsuit because she apparently accepted the money. Can she still sue me because I pleaded guilty...If so, can I or should I change my plea? I'm waiting to hear from my insurance company on this matter.

If your insurance company paid, I'll bet you that they had the other party sign a release prior to issuing the check. You should get a copy of that Release, and tell your insurance company to defend you pursuant to the policy provisions. Last, I'll bet she is suing you pro se, right?
